About NeatContext

NeatContext is a local-first desktop app that brings your team’s domain knowledge to the AI client you already use, for operational work and especially incident handling.

We believe AI is most useful when it understands the specific systems, services, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, logs, and workflows that each team depends on. Instead of forcing teams to move all of their knowledge into another centralized platform, NeatContext lets teams organize and use their own context from their local machine.

NeatContext does not include an AI model. It connects locally to a supported AI client — such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, Claude Desktop, or ChatGPT Desktop — and hands it the domain profiles, local knowledge folders, and read-only tools you selected. Your client does the reading, searching, and answering with its own model, so there is no new AI vendor to approve.

Teams can add, remove, and update domain knowledge as their systems change, and connect to internal tools, public platforms, documentation systems, incident systems, and custom workflows through read-only extensions.

NeatContext is designed to be lightweight, flexible, and easy to start with. Our goal is to help engineering and operations teams use AI with the context they already have, while keeping them in control of their knowledge and workflow.
